DIY Mosaic Tiled IKEA Table

I saw Geneva Vanderzeil post an IKEA hack Instagram Reel taking an ordinary outdoor table and turning into a mosaic masterpiece and I knew immediately I HAD to try it! If you are looking to brighten your outdoor space with some color or just want a fun summer activity, then I encourage you to give it a try as well. The grouting process was daunting, but it was definitely WELL worth it.

Supplies:

• Gladom IKEA Table / Similar Amazon version

• Mod Podge Glue

• Mosaic Tiles (Teardrops, Blue and White, White Shapes)

• Glass Clippers

• Safety Glasses

• Ziploc Bag

• Grout

• Grout tool

• Sponges

• Water + Bowl

• Sponge Brushes

• Mosaic Grout Sealant
  

Instructions:

1. Take the top of your table off and make sure tabletop is clean.

2. Arrange tile pieces in design you like. TIP: Flowers and borders are great!

3. Once you have decided on your design, glue the tile pieces in place using Mod Podge.

4. After the glue is dry, apply the grout to your tabletop. Make sure all of the nooks and crannies are equally and smoothed over.

5. After 15-30 minutes, take a wet sponge and wipe the top of the tiles off.

6. Repeat step 5 as needed, waiting 15-30 min in between cleanings, to make sure the tops of the tiles are free of grout.

7. Wait 24 hours to let the grout fully dry. TIP: If you see that you have cracks in your grout, add more grout on top by repeating steps 4-6.

8. Once dry, apply a thin, even layer of Mosaic grout sealant using a sponge brush.

9. Reassemble your table and enjoy!
